Okay I'm growing old before my eyes... The thing works and the code is in SVN. 
I was unable to get menu functions working. It will not accept child calls 
and mainWindow->menuBar doesn't return correctly as it's not the right type. 

I suppose if someone wanted to go crazy they could add KXMLGUI, KConfig and 
other things. I'd rather get my database drivers written, port to KDE4 and 
start working on Kommander data widgets. I only need a few special 
widgets. ;)

This is my second 20 function plugin in as many days. If I'm not careful I 
might become proficient at C++.
