Yes, I imagined something like that.

For katepart I meant syntax highlighting, line numbers, code folding,
indentation, etc. For Quanta addition I meant code completion, context
help, HTML validation. And of course, it should not mess up the
code. :)

You mean "external files", not Drupal blocks, right?

Links was just an example, but yes, this is what I meant, the DB system
gives less power to the developer to mass-manipulate the files.

We will see if there is a real need for this. So far I believe this
mailing list is also good for discussion.

Yes, I do. Luckily two good things happened meantime: I have access to a
net connection where I can download bigger amount of data and Novell
was kind enough to send me boxed sets of 10.1 and 10.2 as well because
I filed some bug reports and helped with the testing.
