Ok, I will try to install it and see how it works.

Yeah, but in this case the database tables are already created and 
unless we rewrite all the processing part (perl scripts) and the admin 
interface we cannot change their format. And I do not want to rewrite 
them, especially the scripts. This is about the uploaded resources by 
the users via the KNewStuff engine. The users upload different things 
(toolbars, scripts, documentation packages), and the script parses the 
uploaded data, puts the information into the database and things like 
that. In order to provide a list of the uploaded resources we have that 
page to retrieve the information from the database and provide in a 
consistent way (with the rest of the site). There is also another 
interface which manages the database, but that can stay as it is, as it 
is used only by the site admins and it doesn't matter how it looks. 
This admin interface is taken almost as it is from the ghns (get hot 
new stuff) authors.
