Hi all,
it seems like Andras and I are doing a lot. Where is everybody? ;-) This
weekend I start back to the Portland Saturday Market and I'm actually looking
forward to getting back to work... not that I haven't been working
constantly, but this gets me out of the house and gives me only one thing to
work on for 8 hours. It's almost like I have a job two days a week... okay
enough rambling. I've been putting in a lot of time to make it easier to
integrate work from other contributors. Here's some of what is new.
* the developer section is started
* there is an initial site page in the developer section - so now there is
less of an excuse not to get started
* there is a "next step" page walking you through everything to get started
after you sign up and get an account
* The initial Quanta page is up
* there is a new page template for creating pages
* the appmenu function now handles subheaders
* the loose framework is set up to look at in kimagemapeditor
* several new accounts have been given out to application maintainers
Along with this there has been some general work and clean up. I have updated
pages for content. Also I have been working on the data connection class and
error manager class which I accidentally committed before I was ready. (sigh)
I have been working to bring these classes to where I was ready to use them
with the project, as well as work on a rewrite for several other classes that
are associated. These classes are for data management. Please note the
license in the headers on these.
I have been working on the database table for news as well as some initial
layouts. I have a few more things to add to the database, plus I have done
the database design for the project management tools I've been designing that
include over a dozen tables I have to enter in.
We have several people on the list who now have accounts and a lot of people
who don't have accounts. I realize I may be a little difficult to work with,
but I hope to get some help. I've posted things that need to be done and I
can do it again. Shortly I will have the project management up on site and
while it is designed to augment development of applications it would work
great for the site. It would make it easy to list out tasks and have a
developer assume a task and we would all know who was doing what. Anyway if
you think you should be doing something but you're not sure what, please ask.
If you haven't requested an account go ahead, providing you plan to do
something. If you have a question about the agreement then ask. One person
has and it caused me to rewrite part of it. I wish it could be simpler but
I'm too anal for that. ;-)
I hope by next week somebody has done some of the little pickup. Also we
should discuss when we think we might be ready to announce the site.
For requests... I hate to ask this... Andras, do you feel like writing in the
ability to group FAQ entries based on the element we're not using yet? XML is
fairly ugly in PHP4 and pretty nice in PHP5 and I intend to see how close we
can get to moving next week, so only if you're bored. ;-)
