I never wanted to questions Dave's experience. ;-) I just want to have a
nice page which looks the best on the browser of our users, and
undoubtly out users are from the *nix camp.

Let me restate that the real problem is not with the headers. With my
fix the headers are alright in both Konqueror, Firefox, Opera and IE5.
The other fix, with the static width of the boxes (the left menus and
the main area) is that causes some problems *only* for IE5 (I don't
know IE6), and only if the window is shrunken down to less than ~700
pixels in width. But if you shrink down to less than 800x600, even with
the old layout (fixed sizes) it will look ugly as it won't fit in the
screen! So I see no drawback, just pro arguments. With the size given
in percentage it will look nice if you work on full-screen browser with
a screen bigger than 800x600, and will look nice also if your browser
window is smaller than 800x600 (no horizontal scrollbar), if you don't
use IE.
IE5 users with browser window smaller than 800x600 will have to scroll
down a little. ;-)
