Ok, people, I'm getting your opinions but I don't know what I should do
next. I assure you it will be pretty easy to make it in 75kb, no secrets at
all. What should I do? Remember: I'll work on the application site when the
portal is approved, all decisions made.

I think its all going to depend on what the intial content is on the main
page.  If the content is descriptions of all the projects, then you can
probably bury it in the navigation.

So if your text is something like:


KDEWEBDEV is a full featured toolset blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.  It encompasses the following:

[Icon here] QUANTA+ (as a link) - the defacto html / php editor

[Icon here] KOMMANDER: yada yada yada

etc, etc...

This way the sub projects are very pronounced without taking up the
navigation.

Personally I'd love to see both happen (very emphasised in the text +
emphasised in the nav).
