Hi all,
in the coming week we will begin adding files and working on content. Even at
this time it is possible to write basic content files which can be edited.
Here is what is important here. The idea for this site is that it is not just
a short simple "here's my open source program" site, but that it's exemplary.
this means visually, design wise and content wise. There will be a number of
elements and some complexity. To do this right we will need a number of
people contributing.
In order to have CVS access you must have an account. Here is where you can go
to get an account. https://kittyhooch.com/kdewebdev.org. This will lay out
some basic protections for everyone involved and our host as well as handle
your request over a secure connection so that your password will not be
transmitted unencrypted. I will contact you after your account is set up with
instructions for using our CVS. Again, as the site develops and is done on
out private systems before posting you will need an account to access CVS.
There will be no public server.
There will be plenty of room for tasks. Given the menu structure laid out so
far I'm asking for anyone who wants to submit content for any part. Also
there will be other factors involved. Bill had suggested Forum software. I
did have some reservations but I'm open to that. Many elements will have to
be written as well as the underlying code, screenshots, visuals...
What do you want to see on your web site? I'm sure I could come up with the
ideas and probably Chris would be typing like crazy, but I'd like some team
involvement.
I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to get some things done I've
been working on for some time. Tomorrow I want to work on some other things
I've been meaning to work on. Saturday and Sunday I will be at the Portland
Saturday Market. It would really be great by next week to have some input and
see some action here.
Let's have some fun and make this happen! :-)
