It's been prominent on the other site

Yes

No, license only

absolutely not. Unless people fully read it then it's nothing but free
advertising like M$ bitching about Linux. Let them bitch. Before someone is
going to spend money, if they know about both it stands to reason they will
assess them to see if they can save a buck.

These guys don't have VPL, they don't have Kommander... I could go on. They
shipped their first version without find and replace and I dont' think they
would appear preferable now with any half hearted review of the features
before spending money. They are not selling much of this. I know what their
previous sales numbers were and I know that their effort here came up as a
disspointment. The Korean company dropped it from their office suite before
they split the sheets. If not for contract work those guys would be in real
trouble. Believe me, I know.

We're not having this discussion. It's history. If you want to read my account
I'll get you a link. This is all because Alex loved the name and rejected the
idea that they change it when they launched the commercial product. They also
wanted to play on the confusion. Very few people are buying their freaking
software and I will not be standing around pointing people to them so they
can do their best to fleece them.

Once and for all. The job of this site is to convey the message that we have
the best web development tool you can get right here... we make no inference
that we're not really GPL or that we are just getting you hot for a closed
source product. I don't think that's confusing. If someone happens to have
heard of that product they can check us out.

I would also remind you that if they are running a KDE desktop remotely
resembling default they have Quanta Plus installed. It will not only be
confusing to fixate on them but it will appear like what it would be...
fearing some weakness. The problem is their attempt to confuse. You can
download their software for free and run it before buying it and you can get
ours for free. If someone still want to spend money on theirs fine. Frankly I
can't see how it would be an issue unless you're a total impulse buyer in
which case when you write to say Quanta Plus is better I'll hit you up for a
donation.

All of this negates a need to fixate on a program that is hardly maintained
and doesn't begin to compare.

I might add this whole episode happened at the time I lost my mother who I was
very close to and in the process I got some of the most condescending, rude
and ignorant emails from Shawn Gordon I've ever gotten. It was a very
difficult time. I don't have the time or the petty nature for enemies, but
there are just a few poeple I wouldn't pee on if they were on fire and we are
wasting time with one of them.

Eric

PS I was leaning toward changing the project's but it doesn't make sense with
our user base and I didn't want to give Alex the satisfaction. Hey... Maybe I
will do it after Quanta feldspar is discontinued. ;-)
