I don't really know if it's such a great idea to make hard core comparisons to
open source projects... I mean we don't want to look like we're rubbing FLOSS
noses in it. Besides, who cares? We're shooting for the biggest fish anyway.
Any comparisons I would prefer to be against commercial products that
register at least 10-20% of the market in surveys.

Actually that's Chris' area and he's right. There's a world of difference.
There is no crossover generally. Many tools like Dreamweaver have been
updated for XHTML but most XML is developed on Java tools. Java is slow. XML
support of any ability is news, even if to a smaller group.

You are wrong, and I want to be clear about this.
1) We have NO affiliation with that product.
2) We are under no obligation to promote it or carry over any front page
credit or links to the authors. (Not very much of Quanta is their code any
more)
3) It does run on Linux and may run on OS X.
4) It is not a viable feature for feature alternative.
5) You can run Quanta Plus on windows with Cygwin.

I hope this is the last time I see old news on this site. If not for my
conviction and opposition Quanta Plus would be a dead program that only ran
on KDE 2 and didn't have hardly any features. We're promoting open source
here. BTW whatever you do don't order it and look at the source because it is
licensed where they expose proprietary source much like Microsoft offers
"shared source". You may have heard in recent news "don't look at the source"
regarding the latest hack.
