This is an interesting idea. I'll admit to not knowing enough about PHP to
even envision how it would work (I've always followed the strategy Chris
recommended) so I would like to see a prototype.
Jacob, can you work with Eric to put together a PHP prototype of what Eric is
talking about please? Something that is a simple page that displays some
goofy content and can have its language switched from say English to Klingon.
Chris, I'd also like to see a prototype of your idea. Would you mind working
with Bill and D.Reddish (hey D. what's your full name?) to do the same thing?
Just as an FYI, we may not even use the localization parts of the design (it
will depend on if we can get some translators) for Phase I, but I want to
have the capability in place for the future if necessary.
Ideally, I'd like the two prototypes finished by late next week. I'd also like
to have a first pass at the mockups/comps by that time. Américo, don't worry
about any real content. I'm just looking for general look and feel for the
site at this time. Once we have a good idea of what we like, then we'll get
into specifics.
Is this doable for all y'all?
Once we have the prototypes finished, we can decide which path we're going to
take and begin to flesh out our design for how we're going to put the site
together. I plan on having Bill help me with this based on his experience.
Once we have the design, we can start to actually put some code together...
Sound like a plan?
Thanks,
David
